1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what data PDFTalkie collects, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect names, email addresses, device IDs, IP addresses, precise location information, or analytics cookies. The user ID never leaves your device unless you choose to include it in a support email.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Display chat sessions with PDFs.

• Route requests to the OpenAI API. Messages are temporarily processed on OpenAI’s EU servers and deleted under OpenAI’s retention schedule.

We do not build behavioral profiles, run advertisements, or sell any personal data.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only with OpenAI as a processor in order to fulfill your chat requests. No other third parties receive your information.

5. International Transfers

OpenAI may process requests outside the European Economic Area (EEA). OpenAI commits to using appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) when transferring data internationally.

6. Data Retention

• Local User ID: Persists until you reinstall the App or manually reset data via the in-app menu.

• Chat Content: Prompts and responses are retained by OpenAI under their policy (currently up to 30 days for abuse monitoring).

7. Security

We follow industry-standard measures (e.g., secure storage in the device keychain, TLS 1.2+ for network communications) to protect the local user ID and chat content on your device.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or erase data stored on your device. Simply uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we materially change our practices, we will update this page and display an in-app notice at least 14 days before the new policy takes effect.
