Terms of Use
(PDFTalkie – Effective Date: 1 June 2025)
1. Acceptance of the Terms
By downloading, installing, or using PDFTalkie (the “App”) you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old; if you are under 18 you may use the App only with a parent or guardian’s consent.
3. License Grant
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license to use the App solely for its intended purpose (viewing, chatting about, and annotating PDF files).
4. AI-Generated Content & Disclaimers
PDFTalkie relies on the OpenAI API to generate conversational answers. The output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or reflect bias; use it at your own discretion. We do not warrant the accuracy or fitness of AI content.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
violate law or third-party rights;
reverse-engineer, damage, or interfere with the App or OpenAI services;
submit unlawful, harmful, or confidential material.
Using the App implies compliance with OpenAI’s usage policies.
6. Privacy
Your use is also governed by the PDFTalkie Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
All logos, trademarks, and code are owned by us or our licensors (including OpenAI). Content you upload remains yours, but you grant us a license to display it within the App solely to provide the service.
8. Third-Party Services
The App interfaces with OpenAI servers; we are not responsible for outages or results produced by that service.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access at any time for breach of these Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. (Change the jurisdiction if desired.)
12. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted in-app or on our site 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
